Evelyn Inez (Murray)Piepenbring, 90, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away August 17, 2009. She was born January 16, 1919 in Tulsa, OK to William O. and Pearl (Tennison) Murray. The family moved to Enid, OK where she graduated from Enid High School in 1936. Inez worked for 15 years as secretary/bookkeeper for the Dillingham Insurance Agency. On August 1, 1955, she married Frank Piepenbring, the father of three young children; Diane, Jack and Jim. Inez was a Cub Scout Den Mother and school coordinator. She also taught Sunday School and was a member of First Methodist Church in Enid. In 1962 Frank was transferred, and the family moved to Overland Park, Kansas.
Inez worked 11 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and 10 years as a tax examiner for the I.R.S. Inez was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Overland Park Lions Club Lionesses, and various bridge clubs. Family was very important to Inez. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and keeping up with family and friends. She also was a wiz at working crossword puzzles.
Inez was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her husband Frank Piepenbring of the home; sister Patricia Fothergill of Enid, OK.; daughter Diane Anderson of Bentonville, AK.; sons, Jack Piepenbring, and wife Barbara, of Maryville, TN., and Jim Piepenbring ,and wife Nancy, of Prairie Village, KS.; 7 grandchildren , 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, OK. Arrangements pending.
