Dean in 1940 and moved to Overland Park in l950 where she lived with her family until 2001. Eva was a devoted wife and mother, very actively involved in her children's lives, enjoying her roles as Cub Scout Den Mother, school room mother (she always liked putting on parties!) and PTA. Eva was a strong believer in community volunteerism, regularly participating in charity collection drives as well as being a Stephen Minister. Eva was an active member of the Village Presbyterian Church since 1954. She was a competitive tennis player at The Carriage Club until she was 80 years old. Her artistic talent included painting and also the creation of cr?che dolls. One of her pieces is a Santa Claus figurine, which is permanently on display at the Kansas City Toy and Miniature Museum. Eva taught craft classes at The Village Church and exhibited her art at The Plaza Art Fair in the 1960s and 1970s. She moved to Aberdeen Village in 2001. She won several awards in the "Art is Ageless" events and was keen bridge player. Also enjoyed bingo but most of all enjoyed being with her friends at Aberdeen Village. Eva was preceded in death by her brother, Charles; her sister, Helen Hitchcock Dorman; and her husband of 54 years, Robert L. Dean, who passed away in 1994.
