Eva Louise Chaplin, 81, of Mission, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Royal Terrace Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 6th at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the chapel. Eva was born August 19, 1925 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1943. Eva came to know Christ as her personal Savior as a young person and later attended Kansas City Bible College. She married Richard Chaplin in 1949. She had two daughters, Christine and Carol. Eva worked for 17 years as a typist/proof-reader at United Farm Agency. Afterwards, she worked 5 years for Government Employees Hospital Association in the Enrollment Department. She was a member of Nall Avenue Baptist Church for many years and worked with the adult Sunday School. She was known for her hospitality and ministry of encouragement. Often she and Richard opened their home to missionaries and young people. She and Richard moved to Mission Springs Assisted Living in 2000 after Richard suffered a stroke. He preceded her in death in 2002. Eva continued to reside there another 5 years. Survivors include her two daughters, Christine Kent, of Dunn Loring , VA and Carol Amos, of Olathe, KS and seven Grandchildren.
