Erma Kiewit, 94, passed away at Somerset-Claridge Court on November 19, 2009. Erma was born on February 11, 1915 in Kansas City, MO. She was a life member and past worthy matron of Swope Park Chapter Order of Eastern Star and a life member of VFW Post 846 Ladies Auxiliary.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick P. Kiewit. Survivors include daughters Charlene Atkinson and husband Pat, and Marlene Oplotnik and husband Stan. She had two granddaughters, Shelley and Allison Oplotnik and 2 great grandsons.
The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice for the loving care Erma received, as well as their caring support for her family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial in Erma’s name be made to VFW 846 Auxiliary, Joy Roth 6700 West 77th Street, Overland Park, KS 66204, to be used for cancer research. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00p.m. Monday, November 23 at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd. Kansas City, MO.
