Mary E. Myrick, 92, of Bonner Springs, passed away on July 22, 2013.
Mary was born July 26, 1920 in Topeka, KS to John and Clara (Rathburn) Richardson. She married Luther E. Myrick on August 11, 1938. Mary worked various jobs as a cook, retiring after 10 years from the KCK Venture Store.
Mary is survived by her husband of 75 years, Luther, of Bonner Springs, two sons, Charles Myrick, Cheney, KS, and James (Kay) Myrick, Leavenworth, KS, four daughters, Beverly (Richard) Eastwood, Nortonville, KS, Edna (Rick) Walters, Wheatland, MO, Carol (Marvin) Collins, KCK, and Jackie Robison, Basehor, KS, and a sister, Alma Jeanne Mello of Redding, CA. She is loved and will be missed by all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, and a daughter, Gwendolyn Crook.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25th, 6-8 PM, at D.W. Newcomer's Son's Johnson County Funeral Home, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 26th, 10:00 AM, at Shawnee Memory Gardens, K-7 and Monticello. The family will be celebrating Mary's 93rd birthday, with cupcakes, at the graveside service.
