Emeric Kapka passed away in the presence of his family on Sunday, January 10, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Mary Kapka, and her children, Lyndsey & Ryan Kauzlarich, Johnny & Colleen Farris, and Michael Farris and 4 grandchildren and his first wife, Sandy Kapka, and their 3 children, Jane, Hank, and Reggie. A brother to 9, Emeric leaves love for everyone who had the opportunity to experience his presence. Emeric spent his career in finance and his retirement volunteering in the Kansas City community while enjoying the Royals World Series victory. Emeric enjoyed few things as much as spending quality time with his loved ones, running marathons, watching Ohio State beat Notre Dame and working in the yard. Emeric lived well, he was there for a no-hitter, 2 World Series games (1995 Indians vs Braves and 2015 Royals vs Mets) and once turned an unassisted triple play in a family softball game. In lieu of flowers please send thoughts to his family or volunteer your time, as he would, to the organization Next Step KC. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Village Presbyterian Church 6641 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Condolences may be left at www.overlandparkchapel.com
