Elizabeth L. (Liz) Wolff, 81, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away November 10, 2008. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 pm Thursday, November 13, 2008 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Friday, November 14, 2008 at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 7023 W. 71st , Overland Park, KS 66204. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145.
Liz was born July 8, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of William E. and Myrtle Belle (Hamilton) Wolff. A life-long Kansas City area resident, she graduated from Westport High School and attended Kansas City Business College. She worked for the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen for 30 years before retiring in 1978.
As a young lady, Liz loved to ride horses. Later in life, she enjoyed taking winter vacations, especially cruises to warm places, and regularly dined out with family and friends.
Liz was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Virginia Baker and brother-in-law Joe; and her brother, Bill Wolff.
Liz will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.
