Mrs. Elaine Cowles Dean

Elaine Joy Cowles Dean, 85, of Overland Park, passed away peacefully on Aug 24, 2013.
She was born and raised in Wichita, KS.
She attended Northwestern University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
Upon graduation with a degree in Biology, she married William (Bud) Dean and returned to Wichita where she worked at Boeing.
She then managed the home while raising son Bill and daughter Cynthia.
In 1971, they moved to Overland Park.
She was a 30 year volunteer for the Channel 19 Public TV Auction.
Elaine enjoyed hiking during vacations near Estes Park since the 1930's. She especially enjoyed lots of Bridge, Sudoku, and reading. Elaine was a 30-year member of Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed maintaining the garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband William C. Dean and her brother George Cowles.
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law Bill & Marguerite Dean, Daughter Cynthia Doan, Granddaughter Allison Doan, brother, Gordon Cowles & family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 30th, 1:30, at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Avenue Overland Park, KS. The family will receive guests following the ceremony. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Public Television, https://www.kcpt.org/donate/.
