Edytha Ann "Eddy" Singleton (Nielsen, Burke), age 87, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Friday, 01/17/2014 at Sharon Lane Nursing Home in Shawnee KS. She was born on 06/06/1926 in Wood, SD to her parents, Andrew and Edith Nielsen.

Edytha was the second of four children. She married Don Singleton in Tulsa, OK on 11/02/1971. She attended Blair Nebraska High School and graduated in 1943. She was a resident of Shawnee Mission, KS for 58 years and was employed by Amoco Oil as an Office Administrator for 15 years. Edytha was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed spending time with all her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Edytha will be remembered by her loving husband (Don Singleton) and she is also survived by her brother (Bill Nielsen, wife Pat), sister (Pryllis Maxwell) and sons: (Steven C. Burke and Thomas S. Burke, wife Amy), along with numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Edytha was preceded in death by her parents, brother (Andrew Nielsen) and son (David T. Burke).

A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 22 at 11 AM at D.W. Newcomers Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park KS 66210 with a graveside service to follow at noon at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to acknowledge and send a Thank You to Crossroads Hospice for all their fine efforts, and also the employees of Sharon Lane. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice 11150 Thompson Ave, Lenexa KS 66218.
