Edward Earl Adkins, age 75, died June 29 at his home in Seal Beach, CA. He was born in Boonville, MO on December 20, 1933. He lived most of his life in Kansas City, MO attending Westport High School and graduating from Avila College. He was a US Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Everett F. Larson. Employed at Midwest Research Institute in the 1970's, he retired from the Goad Company as an industrial sales representative in 2000. He was then able to devote himself more to his favorite past-time, Mizzou football and boating at Pomme de Terre Lake.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kathryn Adkins, brother Lee and grandchild Shawn Pace. He was survived by his wife of 29 years, Connie, his brother George W. (Lola) of Independence, MO; his children, Janet Pace of Shawnee, KS; Karen (Kenne) Stolfus of Lee’s Summit; Stephen (Robin) Covell of Lenexa, KS; and stepson Bret (Anna) Scholtes of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July, 6th at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Road, Roeland Park, KS. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. A reception of friends will be back at the church following the burial.
