Edna Whitfield

Edna Lois Whitfield, 93, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Manor, Merriam. She was born May 23, 1914, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a very active member at Country Club United Methodist Church. She served as a preschool and Sunday school teacher, sang in the Chancel Choir, and enjoyed ringing bells in the church Bell Choir. She was also a volunteer for the Della C. Lamb Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L. Whitfield. Survivors include her son, Kenneth L. and his wife Charlotte Whitfield, Shawnee, daughter, Karen Herron, Merriam. Cremation, memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 25, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Private inurnment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
