Edna M. Polfer, of Overland Park, Kan., daughter of Nicholas E. and Mary Goodwin Polfer, died Sunday, December 13, 2009. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel with graveside services following in Mt. Muncie Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kan. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society . Edna was born in Wyandotte County, but lived in Johnson County most of her life. She graduated from DeSoto High School and later graduated from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan. Miss Polfer was a secretary for the bank examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank before she retired in 1976, and she was a member of the 25 year Club there. Edna was a member of the Overland Park Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mabel Polfer Golden, two brothers, Roy E. Polfer and Paul P. Polfer, and two nieces, Beverly Polfer Smith and Paula Polfer Blazer. Survivors include seven nieces and nephews, Arlene Golden Leonard, Judith Golden Walker, Marsha Golden Camblin, Janice Polfer Kelly, Neil Polfer, R. Kent Polfer and Penny Polfer Peterson. She is also survived by 19 grand nieces and nephews
