Edith H. Osborn, 81, Mission, Kan., passed away October 15, 2007. Born Edith Heloise Allen, Dec. 4, 1925, in Hamilton County, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, John D. and Iva J. (Nipper) Allen; three brothers, Merrel Allen, James Allen and John D. ("Junior") Allen; and two sisters, Wilma Morgan and Thelma Benbrook. Edith moved to Kansas City in the 1940s and made it her home. She was married to her husband of 46 years, Robert E. Osborn, in 1950. She was a member of Southridge Presbyterian Church in Roeland Park for 50 years and was active in the Mariners' Association and Women's Association. She was employed by Myron Green Corp. for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. She is survived by two daughters, Roberta J. Peterson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Donna D. Osborn of Fairway; a son-in-law, Douglas A. Peterson; two grandsons, Joshua D. Peterson and James D. Fidler and his wife, Erin; and two great-grandchildren, Xander D. Fidler and Aaralyn J. Fidler, all of Des Moines, Iowa. Her daughters wish to thank the staff and families of Sweet Life Shawnee for their care and support during the past year. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Southridge Presbyterian Church, 5015 Buena Vista, Roeland Park, Kan. Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. prior to service. Burial is in Antioch cemetery, Merriam, Kan.
