Doyle Hargadine, age 79, of Prairie Village, KS, surrounded by friends and family went home to Jesus on March 8, 2009.
A devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather, his sense of humor, positive attitude, and encouraging manner touched all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. The family thanks all who loved him and cared for him, and a special thank you to Dr. Dave Elcock.
Born in Salina, KS on February 25, 1930, he grew up in McPherson, and belonged to Pi Kappa Alpha at Kansas State College where he graduated in 1953.
During college he met and married Dortha, the love of his life. He served in the National Guard, worked for Vita Craft, founded Future Homes, Inc., in 1956, and was Regional Field VP at BMA from 1966 until founding Financial Analysis, Inc. in 1980. Continuing education led to CLU, ChFC, and MSFCo credentials.
He served the Village Presbyterian Church on the stewardship committee, as Men's Club president, Sunday School teacher, elder and deacon. He enjoyed Bible study, global travel, and owning and managing real estate.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Lois Hargadine and brother, Craig. He is survived by Dortha, wife of 58 years; son, Mark Hargadine (Becky), of Overland Park; daughter, Kim Doyle of Sparks, NV; brother, Dale Hargadine (Jan), four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 11th, at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Private interment in Corith Cemetery, Prairie Village, KS. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 10th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Village Church Respite Care or Care & Counseling ministries.
