Dorothy K. Meeks age 97, passed away, Monday, February 9, 2008 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 14, 2009 at DW Newcomers Son’s Overland Park Chapel 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66204. Burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to time of service at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100 Kansas City, MO 64114.
Dorothy was born January 31, 1912 in Kansas City, KS. She married Howard Meeks in 1935 together they operated American Glass Company in Kansas City, KS. Dorothy was an avid card player who loved to win, she also loved to sew, making most of her own clothing and for her family never using a pattern. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard and two children Pamela and Sheila Meeks.
Survivors include daughters, Lynne Wenski and husband John and Candy Loving: grandchildren Lisa Wenski and Troy Wenski and wife Maureen, Missy Strader and Jeff Vesel and four great grandchildren.
