Dorothy Brunson

Dorothy J. Villee Brunson, 91, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Village Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Village Presbyterian Church , 6641 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Dorothy was born October 30, 1917 in Topeka, KS. She graduated from Topeka High School and attended Washburn University. Dorothy married Forrest R. Brunson in 1940. She was a past president and member for over 50 years of the Alpha Phi Sorority, past Vice president and Secretary of P.E.O. Chapter FV, and a member of Village Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was a Senior High sponsor. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest R. Brunson in 1998; her brothers George D. Villee, Jr. and William B. Villee. Survivors include a daughter Marsha A. (Michael) Elston; a son, John R. Brunson; grandchildren: Scott R., Colin R., Kyle R., and Connor R. Brunson; and an adopted daughter, Judy L. Jackson. Arrangements by: D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel (913) 648-6224.
