Doris Jean Kuehn entered into Eternal Glory on October 16, 2012 at 74 years. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mission, Kansas on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 5:30-7:30P.M. The praise service will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Shawnee Mission Pkwy and Nall, Mission, Kansas, with graveside service at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, at K-7 and 75th Street in Shawnee, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Kansas City Hospice.
Born, August, 20, 1938 to Ernest Schilly Sr. and Anna May (nee Guice) in Memphis Tennessee, and was baptized in Christ in September at Trinity Lutheran Church in Memphis, Tennessee. She joined two brothers, Ernest Schilly Jr. and John Schilly. She attended schools in the Memphis School System, graduating from Central High School in May of 1956. She attended St. John's Lutheran College in Winfield, Kansas and received her Associates Degree in May of 1958. Doris was an accomplished organist.
On August 14, 1960, Doris was united in marriage to William Ernest Kuehn at Trinity Lutheran Church in Memphis, Tennessee. This union was blessed with four sons and one daughter. Doris spent her children's formative years in the home. She then worked as a legal secretary for Corson & Osborn, P.A. in Kansas City, Kansas for 13 years.
Doris was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Allen Kuehn. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William "Bill" Kuehn; three sons: William E. Kuehn II and wife, Karmaria (nee Forbes), John D. Kuehn and wife Kimberly (nee Phillips), Mark E. Kuehn and wife Jill (nee Robertson); a daughter, Judith L. Kuehn; grandchildren: Jordan Kuehn and wife Andrea (nee Jordan), Kelsey Kuehn, Carter and Elise Kuehn, and Kaitlyn Kuehn; a nephew, Lee Schilly; a niece, Sharon McLaughlin.
