Doris Hughes, 84, passed away September 27, 2017. A visitation will be from 5-7 pm Sunday, October 1st at the Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS a funeral service will be at 10:00 am Monday, October 2nd at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 5400 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS. Burial to follow at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Doris was born November 1, 1932 in Kansas City, KS to Harley and Mildred Morris. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; grandson Nicholas Hughes; brothers, Charles, Kenneth Morris and sister, Shirley Ramsey. She is survived by her daughter, Debi (Bill) Bondon; son, Mark (Raye) Hughes; grandchildren, Ashley Berry, Jacob Hughes; great-grandchildren, Adiken, Austin and Ava Berry; also like a son to Doris, David Drummond and her special Madison; brother, James Morris and sister, Carolyn Jones.
Doris was a wonderful caring person and mom, the best friend of her daughter, Debi. She always went above and beyond in everything she could. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contribution donations be made to Asbury Memory Gardens.
