Donna B. Zimmerman, Stilwell, KS was called by her Lord and Savior, at her home, on Sept. 3, 2012. She was born on July 5, 1911 on the Frank and Birdie Smith farm at 191st and Mission Rd. The middle child of 4 brothers and 3 sisters, who preceded her to Heaven. She became a member of the First Baptist Church of Stilwell at age 11, and lived her entire life in the community. After college preparation at Warrensburg, Donna was a teacher for 8 years in 1-room school houses in southern Johnson County. On July 23, 1939 she married Stanley Marvin Zimmerman, becoming a full-time home maker, raising 3 children, and serving her church as pianist, teacher, women's missionary society and friendly encourager. Her husband Stanley, preceded her in death in 1990, and son Stanley Melvin in 1962. Survivors include Carol Zimmerman of Overland Park, son Kenneth (Debra) Zimmerman of Stilwell, 2 grandsons, Kyle and Brock, and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kyleigh. Services will be held Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the 1st Baptist Church of Stilwell, 19950 Broadmoor Ln., with visitation on Thurs., Sept. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Burial at Aubry Cemetery, 191st & Metcalf. The family suggests memorials to the 1st Baptist Church of Stilwell or the charity of your choice.
