Don Rowland, 70, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Lenexa Baptist Church, 15320 W. 87th Street Pkwy, Lenexa, KS. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church; burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. The family suggests contributions to the church.
Don was born May 5, 1942 in Overland Park, KS to Wm. Leonard and Edith Rowland. He worked for Ford Motor Company for forty years, retiring in 2000. Don worked at the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City after his retirement. Don was a charter member and deacon at Nall Ave Baptist Church, and then became a member of Lenexa Baptist Church in 2006. Don was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Meredith Lynn; a sister, Dorothy Hansen; and a brother, Bill Rowland. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Donna Rowland; his three daughters and their spouses: Julie & Tim Riddle, Kari & Brad Hoback, and Shelly & Bryan Redmond; four grandchildren: Heather Hoback, Rachel Hoback, Eli Redmond, and Hank Redmond.
