Dennis was born May 28, 1938, in Schuyler, Nebraska to Morris E. and Geraldine (Douglass)
Bailey. He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1956. He served in the United States Navy
from 1957-1961, as a Second Class AD-Air Mechanic-in Japan. On February 14, 1970, he married
Marjorie A. Schulz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Schuyler. Dennis worked as a Police Officer for
the City of Schuyler 1961-1966, owned and operated Bailey Digging and Redi-Mix, and then ran Bailey Digging until retiring in 2000. He was Santa's helper for many years in the Schuyler area.
Dennis died Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha with his family at his side.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lifetime member of the Schuyler Legion and VFW,
and was past member of the Schuyler Grade School Board. He enjoyed fishing and working in his
shop. His greatest accomplishment was finishing a garden playhouse for his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Schuyler, daughter Michelle (Darrell) Parks, Prairie Village,
Kansas, son Todd (Shari) Bailey of Schuyler, one brother Gerald (Gwen) Bailey of Overland Park,
Kansas, 2 granddaughters, Kaylea Bailey and Grace Parks. He was preceded in death by his
parents.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Dennis will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched in so many ways. He was a very giving person and had a special way that he looked at life.
