Denie Peterson

Denie Gail Peterson, 92, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away, peacefully Tuesday, July 14th.Denie was born November 3, 1917 at Cole Camp, Missouri to Fred and Dessie Kahman. She graduated from Center High School in 1934 and on May 19th, 1940 married Russell H. Peterson, who preceded her in death in 1972.She was employed as a sales secretary for the Olivetti Company, retiring after 35 years in 1978. She was a lifelong resident of Merriam and a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawnee for many years. Survivors include a sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Denie was a very special lady, who will be missed forever by all who loved her.Visitation will held Monday, July 19th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 82nd and Metcalf from 11:00 to 12:00.Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at Newcomers Floral Hills, Blue Ridge and Gregory.
