Damion Joshua Dunfield

Damion Joshua Dunfield was born December 14, 1977, in Kansas City, Missouri to Harold Young and Rose Young. He passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the age of 45 years. Damion was raised in Peculiar, MO where he worked for his Father at his company called U.S. Truss Steel until Harold retired. The most important thing to Damion was family! He was loved and cherished by his Mother Rose and Father Harold. Damion may have challenged his sister Toni but they shared an unbreakable bond which led to a very strong friendship with his brother in law Bart. We never know God’s plan when it is happening, but he sure does put us where we belong. With a nudge from God, Damion met Melissa. From the very beginning he knew she was his soulmate. Through struggles, tears, joy and love the two of them shaped the amazing young adults they have today. As a proud father he leaves a piece of himself inside each of their hearts. Knowing God’s love and grace his family awaits the day they can laugh with him again. The family members he leaves behind include: Wife, Melissa Dunfield, of Overland Park, Kansas; Mother, Rose Young, of Overland Park, Kansas; 4 Daughters: Nichole Dunfield, of Warrensburg, Missouri, Brianna Dunfield, of Ocala, Florida, Shaneya Banks, of Gainesville, Florida, and Alexis Stratton, of Overland Park, Kansas; 1 Son, Colten Stratton, of Overland Park, Kansas; 4 Grandchildren: Logan Dunfield, Nathan Dunfield, Elizabeth Dunfield, and Michael Wallace; 1 Sister, Toni Hampton and husband Bart Hampton, of Overland Park, Kansas; 2 Nephews: Ethan Hampton and Luke Hampton. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold. A private family Celebration of life was held at the City Park, located at 10601 Lee Blvd, Leawood Kansas, 66206.
