DALE HINTON HERTEL
Dale Hertel of Leawood, Kansas, passed away quietly Saturday, October 8, 2011. Mrs. Hertel was born in 1922 in Akron, Ohio. She was graduated from the University of Akron in 1944. She was a lifelong member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and served as chapter president during her senior year. She was a wonderful gourmet cook and would entertain her dinner guests by recreating recipes she gathered while traveling with her husband throughout South America, Europe and the Middle East. She was a member of St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church and Trinity Anglican Church. Her husband, Robert E. Hertel, preceded her in death. Mrs. Hertel is survived by her three sons: Robert E. Hertel, Jr., his wife, Cheryl, their sons, Ryan and Dustin; Richard H. Hertel, his wife, Judy, their children, Kyle, Kaylin, Colin, Kevin and Kris; and Carl W. Hertel, his wife, Brooke and their sons, Ehren and Drew. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of The Forum for the kindness and care they provided Mrs. Hertel during her time living there. Donations may be given in Mrs. Hertel's name to Grace Hospice. Services will be private. Every book must have an ending and her life was truly an excellent book.
