Cynthia K. Moore, 49, Shawnee, KS, lost her strong and courageous battle with breast cancer on Monday, February 11, 2008.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, February 15, from 6-8 PM at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Services to celebrate Cindy?s life will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 10:00 AM at the Colonial Church of Prairie Village at 7039 Mission Road, followed by a graveside service at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf.
Cindy was born in Fort Wayne, IN and attended high school at Shawnee Mission West in Overland Park, KS. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1981 in Dietetics and worked for ARAMARK for 26 years. The last 13 years of her career were at
St. Joseph?s Medical Center as the Clinical Nutrition Manager.
Cindy?s passion was her three boys, Kyle, Luke, and Alex. After the death of her husband, Mark, 8 years ago, she devoted herself to the boys. There was never a minute that she was not engaged in doing what was best for her boys. Cindy spent hours on the fields, in the bleachers, or by the side of the pool watching, encouraging, and cheering on her boys while they played their favorite sports.
She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Mark Moore, and her mom, Jerry Davis.
Her life and memory will live on in her three sons, her father Dean Davis, her brothers, Greg and Steve Davis, and sister, Becky Crowl and the many other family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Throughout her life she made friends wherever she went, and leaves a long trail of friends and family that will forever miss her wonderful sense of humor that brightened all of our days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to an educational fund established for Cindy?s boys to ?Learning Quest.? Contributions can also be made to The Kansas City Hospice House which so lovingly cared for Cindy in her final days. Contributions may be mailed to D.W. Newcomer?s Sons, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210.
