CLOYD “RED” KRACHT
Cloyd “Red” Kracht, 89, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17th, 2010 at the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel; burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to Mercy Alliance Int’l, 458 N. Missouri St., Liberty, MO 64068. Please designate this as a gift to Ashley Kracht for her mission work in South Africa in memory of Cloyd Kracht .
Cloyd was born Jan. 3, 1922 in Marysville, KS. He graduated from Rosedale High School in 1939. Cloyd entered the Sheet Metal Apprenticeship program and was called to serve his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII where he repaired damaged airplanes. Cloyd worked for Sheet Metal Workers Union # 2 for 46 years. He married Julia May Brown April 3, 1948. Cloyd attended the Bible Chapel of Shawnee. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Julie Kracht; a daughter, Debbie Krebs; a son, Steve Kracht; a sister, Darleen Fryatt; grandchildren: Ryan & Ashley Kracht, and Allison Krebs.
