Charles W. Weedman, 95, Lenexa, KS, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Lakeview Village Care Center. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel; burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Charles was born August 10, 1917 in Perkins County, S.D. to Ona and Lelia Weedman. He graduated from Central H.S. and UMKC University. Charles married Bettie (Merchen) Weedman September 7, 1948 in Kansas City, MO. He served as Navigator Bombardier in the Army Air Corp in WWII and the Korean War. Charles operated and owned a hardware store in Emporia, KS from 1961 to 1971 when he sold the business and moved to Trenton, MO. He later owned and operated a Radio Shack and hardware business in Trenton until 1986 when he sold the business and retired.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Bettie, his mother and father, sisters: Pauline Weedman and Arlene Shillingburg and brothers, Myron and Gail Weedman. He is survived by nephews and nieces.
