Charlene Dickeson

Charlene Herriman Dickeson passed away July 30, 2007 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held at Overland Park Presbyterian Church, 8029 Overland Park Drive, Overland Park, KS at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 2nd. A reception will follow for all friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Overland Park Presbyterian Sewing Club or the charity of your choice.
Charlene was born in Carroll County, Missouri. She and her husband moved to Overland Park in 1950. She was secretary of Somerset Elementary School for over 30 years and was Administrative Assistant for the Cherry Street Ronald McDonald House. Mr. and Mrs. Dickeson ran the Johnson County 3&2 League ball parks for over 15 years. She was an active member and Deacon of the Overland Park Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, John T. Dickeson. Survivors include her son, John C. Dickeson of Kansas City; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Gary Leabo of Independence; five grandchildren, John Hill Dickeson (Cindy) of Shawnee, Page Dickeson-Blankenship (Will) of Topeka, Chad Leabo (Ann) of Kansas City, Todd Leabo (Denise) of Lee?s Summit, and Blaine Dickeson of KansasCity; and five great-grandchildren, Loreal, Cooper, Isabella, Addie, and London. Her larger-than-life presence will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
