Carol Sue Patton, 75, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Evergreen Community of Johnson County.
Carol was born on August 15, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, to Glenn and Elizabeth Finley. She graduated from Paseo High School and obtained an associate's degree from junior college. Carol was a member of PEO, Chapter IV for over 40 years and was a past president. She worked at Linda Hall Library at UMKC and was a volunteer at the state capitol library in Topeka. Above all she was dedicated to family and friends and was a quiet strength to everyone. Carol enjoyed reading, collecting teddy bears and antique thimbles.
She was preceded in death by parents and son, Michael William Patton.
Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Patton; son, David Patton; grandchildren, Kaytie and Cole Patton; daughter-in-law, Amy Patton; and sister, Marilyn Finley Manis.
The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with a short message at 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS.
