Bobby Lee (Bob) Palm, 80 years old, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2011. He was surrounded by his loving family at Villa St. Francis Nursing Home in Olathe, KS, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Bob was born in Wichita, KS to Oscar and Gail Palm on May 24, 1930. He graduated from Wichita East High School in 1948. He and M. Marie Clark were wed in June of 1950, a union that lasted over 60 years. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War conflict. Bob worked in the automotive field for most of his life, and began in his father’s Hudson/Rambler dealership (Palm “Swede” Motors) in Wichita, which led him to an administrative vocation with American Motors Corp., now Chrysler Corp., until he retired in 1991. He spent most of his retirement years working on clocks, one of his favorite hobbies, at The Clock Shop in Old Town Lenexa. He is survived by his wife Marie, a son Rick Palm (wife Ella), Roeland Park, KS; daughter Vicki Andersen, Overland Park, KS; two grandsons Timothy Andersen, Shawnee, KS, and Adam Andersen (wife Jennifer), Overland Park, KS; one granddaughter, Christina Palm, Kansas City, MO; a great granddaughter, Madison; one brother, Larry Palm, Florida, and three nephews Trey, David, and Steve. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, February 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm, at D.W.
