Bobbie Jones of Mission Hills, Kansas passed away on August 29th, 2014. A private service will be held on Saturday, September 6th at Mount Moriah Cemetery. All are welcome to attend a celebration of life at her family home at 5:00 that evening.

Bobbie was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on March 2nd, 1925. She attended college at Monticello outside of St. Louis. She later completed a Masters in social work and taught elementary school in Kansas City. She was married June 9th, 1951. She loved the fact that her entire 3rd grade class attended her wedding. Her life revolved around her home and family (including her pets). She was the center of all the activities. She raised seven active children and spent countless hours traveling and supporting them in their numerous sporting and social endeavors. She also loved gardening and created a beautiful setting which hosted several family weddings. Her sense of style never went unnoticed.

Her house was an open door to all her friends and family, including her children’s friends. When asked about her greatest accomplishment, she said “My family.” In fact at last count, she had cooked over 50,000 meals for her family and friends. Her favorite occasions were Thanksgiving and Christmas where her family gathered.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Marion and Thelma Houston, her sister, Mary Kay Shepard, her sons, Houston Jones, Casey Jones and John Clay Jones. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ray D. Jones, her children, Kevin (Nancy) Jones, Sarah (Mike) Lytle, Brian Jones, Liz Knops, Brigit Jones and daughter-in-law Linda Jones, sister-in-law Helen Lea as well as her grandchildren, Nick (Kate) Jones, Chris Jones, Caroline Jones, Casey (Maddie) Lytle, Charlie Lytle, Lea Lytle, Ryan Knops and great grandchildren, Lily Jones, Houston Jones, Vivian Jones and Brantley Lytle.
