Bill was a Philadelphia Pennsylvania raised boy. After high school, he spent two years in the Army Air Corps in the Philippines. He went on to Susquehanna College where he studied science and math and found “Francie”, the love of his life and wife of 40 years. He then went on to Princeton earning a Master of Divinity. After church work in Pennsylvania, he came to Kansas in 1969 to work as the Children’s Minister at the Village United Presbyterian Church. Bill is best remembered for his coat of many colors, story-based children’s sermons, the puppet ministry, and starting the Village Church Preschool.
His family consists of two children, Jamie Foster (wife Lynn) and Vickie Foster Sisco (husband Rob); four grandchildren, Trevor Foster, Tracy Regusci, Megan Sisco, and Eric Sisco, and ten great grandchildren who helped keep him young.
Bill was a remarkable man up to his last breath. He lived life developing meaningful friendships, constantly learning and teaching, and loving life with a playful attitude. He had a gift for modeling and inspiring others, each to be a real mensch. Upon retirement, volunteering and family were second only to Dairy Queen “Moolattes.”
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Village United Presbyterian church or the Heartland Presbyterian Center Camp in Parkville, Missouri. Please offer condolences at www.overlandparkchapel.com
