Betty Jean Pendergraft, 82, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Betty was born July 29, 1930, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Louis and Birdie Knight.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Cleman Pendergraft, in 1978; sister, Mary Kornele; and two brothers Bob and Ronnie Knight.
Betty is survived by her son, Doug Pendergraft, Montana; daughter, Terri (Mike) Dunn, Prairie Village, Kansas; three sisters, Joyce Alexander, Woodward, Oklahoma, Ina Richardson, Rochester, Indiana and Martha (Reggie) Hancock, Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Marvin Knight, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and John Knight, Edmond, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Michael Dunn, Kansas City, Missouri, Natalie (Jerry) Walsh, La Grange Park, Illinois, Julie (Kris) Fredrickson, Prairie Village, Kansas; and three great-granddaughters, Madeline Walsh, Ava and Stella Jane Fredrickson.
A special thanks to the staff (Team Betty Jean) at Brighton Gardens. And to the doctors and nurses at Shawnee Mission Medical Center who helped in making Mom's journey peaceful, graceful and with dignity; just as she lived her life.
