Betty Ball Miller Darr, 89, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Friday, August 12, 2011. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel; burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Newcomer's Overland Park Chapel. Betty was born Nov. 26, 1921, to E.L. and Marion Miller. She attended Baker University and graduated from MU in 1942. Betty married Keith O. Darr on Sept. 18, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo. She was a substitute teacher for the Shawnee Mission School District. Betty was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Daughters of 1812, Magna Charta Dames, and a member of Hillcrest Covenant Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Keith O. Darr; and her sister, Marion Hitt. Survivors include her four children, Neil Darr, Mark Darr, Dale (Cathy) Darr, Diane (Pat) Gould; seven grandchildren, Lori, Bryan, Bailey, Grant, Jared, Dylan, and Derek; and a brother- in-law, Richard Hitt.
