Mrs. Betty Goss

June 24, 1922 — March 27, 2010

BETTY SULLIVAN GOSS of Leawood, Kansas passed away on March 27, 2010 at her home. Betty, the daughter and only child of Frank and Maude Sullivan, was born in Eskridge, Kansas on June 24, 1922. She was married at the Danforth Chapel in Lawrence, Kansas to her beloved husband of 63 years, Harold E. Goss, on February 7, 1947.

Betty and her parents moved to Lawrence, Kansas when she was 5 and from that day forward, Betty was an avid Kansas Jayhawk fan. She attended the University of Kansas and was one of the first women to graduate from KU School of Business. While in school, Betty was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and later served on its alumni Board of Directors. Many of her life-long friends were Thetas and Betty enjoyed many good times with them after she graduated from KU in 1946.

Betty was a devoted mother to her four sons, Harold M. and his wife Joan, Neil, Gary and his wife Janet, and Michael and his wife Denise. She was in love with and loved by her five grandchildren, Scott, Madeline, Michael, Greg and his wife Maggie, and Peter and his wife Lindsay.

Betty never met anyone that didn't become an instant friend. She was a giving and devoted friend, wife, mother and grandmother. Always glad to see you and always sad when it was time to leave. She will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2010 at DW Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas.
