Betty Ballantyne

Betty Ballantyne, age 91, died on August 22, 2016. Her life was all about her friends and family. She loved travel, bridge, fishing and bowling. She was active in PTA and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and served as one of the first female deacons and elders at the Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her son, Phil, in 1966, and her husband, Richard, in 2011. She and Richard spent 67 years married. She is survived by her son Paul (Karen) Ballantyne; her daughter Sharon (Bob) Shofstall; granddaughters, Amy Korey Folmer, Rebecca Ballantyne, Lisa Shofstall, and Mary Ballantyne; and two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Brooke Folmer.
Friends can visit from 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 24, at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 6306 Roe Ave., Prairie Village, KS. Burial at the gravesite at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 25, at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO.
Donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice or to the Church.
