On October 4, 2020, Bettianne Laughlin, 93, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed from this earth. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and had shared many memorable times with her. Bettianne was full of life and constantly on-the-go. She was devoted to Raymond, her beloved husband of 58 years, and to her family.
Betty and Ray met in the first grade in Liberty, MO and shared a lifetime together until Ray's passing in 2005. Ray played the drums in several local bands and Betty always accompanied Ray to his "gigs". Betty and Ray loved to dance, sing, and party in their basement, sharing fun times with friends and family.
Betty was a lifelong member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She attended William Jewell College in Liberty. Many years ago, Betty worked at the Jones Store in Prairie Village. Years after Ray passed, Betty eventually moved from their home in Prairie Village to Kenilworth Apartments where she would play Bingo, Blackjack and dance to the Friday night band. Her last home was Bickford of Overland Park Assisted Living.
The family would like to thank Kenilworth, Bickford, and Lumicare Hospice for all the kindness and love shown to our mother. She loved Kenilworth and Bickford!
Betty was preceded in death by her lifelong love, her husband Raymond Dewitt Laughlin, and her son Mark Randall Laughlin. She leaves behind her son Timothy Ray Laughlin and his wife Pam; her daughter Cynthia Diane Laughlin Hahn and her husband Del Lofstrom; five grandchildren: Jenny Hahn and her partner Jerry Rapp, Rebecca Vizcarra and her husband Bruno, Tara Laughlin Hollums and her husband Dylan, Hannah Reedy and her partner Drew Black, Sean Reedy; nine great-grandchildren: Jaden Leyser, Hallee Ball, Rylan Ball, Mason Hollums, Elyse Vizcarra, Anika Vizcarra, Alice Black, Iris Black, and Mila Kay Reedy.
