BETTE RAITT WASSER SHOEMAKE
Bette Raitt Wasser Shoemake, 83, Leawood, KS, passed away December 11, 2010 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 17th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
She is survived by her husband , Eddie Shoemake; sons Steve Wasser of Fort Worth, TX and Robert Wasser of Lenexa, KS; step-daughters Christy Johnson of Fredericktown, MO and Debbie Hoffren of Spring, TX; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by parents Earl and Evelyn Raitt and first husband, Lewin Wasser. Active in community affairs for many years as Planning commission member, Cub scout leader, Lenexa Historical Society Member, PEO Sisterhood Chapter FN for over 50 years, member Knox Presbyterian Church, and 27 year teacher in Lenexa/Shawnee Mission School District.
