Bette McDaniel

Bette J. Frass McDaniel, 98, of Leawood, Kansas, died Monday, October 31, 2022, at Villa St. Francis, Olathe, Kansas. Services will be held on November. 11, 2022 at the Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Avenue; burial will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the Darrouzett Cemetery, Darrouzett, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society.

Bette was born January 18, 1924 in Canadian, TX. She lived over sixty years in the Leawood area. She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy, Stephens College, Katharine Gibbs Business College, and the University of Kansas. She worked for MIT during WWII and Florence Crittenton Kansas City, MO. She did her masters degree in Special Education and worked with Karl Menninger at Menninger’s in Topeka, KS. She was a Charter Member of the United Methodist Church, Darrouzett, TX, a Board Member of the Watkins Woolen Mill Association, worked with the board of directors for Stephens College, a deacon at the Country Club Christian Church of Kansas City, MO, and a Senior Intern to Senator Nancy Kassebaum. She married Byron S. McDaniel and is survived by her daughter, Carol. She held a tenacity for life, love, and country. She will be missed.
