Bette K. Jensen, age 92, of Mission, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the family home surrounded by her husband and daughters. She was born January 15, 1922 in Mayview, Missouri. During her youth she was an accomplished roller skater. After graduating Higginsville High School, where she was in the Drum and Bugle Corps, she moved to Kansas City where she met the love of her life, Stan, whom she was married to for 72 years. Together they enjoyed entertaining, dancing, traveling, playing cards, and fishing. She was an avid reader and a master at Scrabble.
Bette was preceded in death by: her parents, Phillip and Eunice Kincheloe, and son-in-law, Cliff Bachman. Bette is survived by her husband, Stanley K. Jensen, age 95; three daughters, Jo Ann (Kirk) Daddow, Donna Bachman and Tammy Jensen and partner, Samantha Hance; a sister, Winnie Seeman; three granddaughters: Kirsten, Kim, and Keri; four great grandchildren: Ben, Jennifer, Laura, and Lloyd; and one nephew: Jim Seeman.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., followed by burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Online condolences and fond memories may be offered at www.opchapel.com.
