Benjamin "Ben" Gevargizian, of Leawood, KS, died Sunday, February 27, 2011, at home with his family. Funeral services will be held, at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011, at D. W. Newcomer's Sons, Overland Park Chapel. Visitation 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Chapel. Ben was born in Iran and immigrated to the U. S. to attend college and received his Master's in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri. He left the engineering field to start his own commercial cleaning business. Ben owned and operated Ace Janitorial for 35 years. He met and married Deidra Snyder in 1983, and a family soon followed. He enjoyed many activities including Judo, tennis, skiing, and weekends at the lake with his family. He was an avid collector of antique cars. Ben's newfound passion was Karaoke. He always remarked how singing saved him. Sing on, Ben! We love you! Ben leaves behind his wife, Dede; daughter, Jill; sons, Jason & David. He also leaves his beloved mother, Marganiteh Chamaki.
