Arlin Holtz

Rev. Arlin Adolph Arthur Holtz, 90, of Overland Park, KS, was taken to his eternal home on November 4, 2014. He was born March 2, 1924 to Wilhelmine and John F. Holtz in Beemer, NE. He graduated from St. John's Lutheran Academy, Winfield, KS in 1942, St. John's Lutheran College, Winfield, KS in 1946 and Concordia Lutheran Seminary, St. Louis in 1948. Arlin married Ardis Ruth Ott, also of Beemer, June 22, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fremont, NE. Arlin's 60+ years in the Lutheran ministry included parishes at Herrin, IL; Sparta, IL; Cedar Bluffs, NE; Fremont, NE; Ft. Worth, TX; Kansas City, KS; and then following his retirement, at Lee's Summit, MO; Basehor, KS; and Platte City, MO. He is survived by son Tom and his wife Juanita, Tom's son Darren, his wife Jessica and their daughters Eve and Piper, and Tom's daughter Erika; daughter Mary Jo Cuny, her husband Phillip and their children Chad Wells, his wife Agnes and their children Alex and Katie, daughter Rachel, and daughter Ellen Hawkins and her husband Brian; daughter Christine Page, her son Tom Page, his wife Blakely and their daughter Nora, and her daughter Abby Chugden, her husband Jay and their children Delia and Jasper. He is preceded in death by his wife Ardis, his mother and father, brothers and sisters and a host of beloved family and former parishioners. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 7th at 1:00 PM at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4153 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, KS 66103 with visitation and a light lunch at the church just prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
