Anne Gena Adams of Overland Park, KS passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at Brighton Gardens. Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Village Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in Friendship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS 66212, or Children’s Mercy Hospital, 2401 Gillham Road, Kansas City, MO 64108.
Anne was born December 3, 1922, in Dayton, OH. She and her future husband grew up in New Philadelphia, OH and both attended Miami of Ohio. Anne married John Q. Adams on October 27, 1945, in New Philadelphia, OH. They moved to Kansas City where they started a family business, John Q. Adams & Associates. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Q. Adams on July 10, 2007; her parents and her two sisters. Survivors include her children: Dr. John S. Adams and wife, Dr. Deni R. Aberle; Betsy A. McFadden and husband, Dr. Scott F. McFadden; Mark C. Adams and wife, Kathy H. Adams; grandchildren: Wesley Adams, Annie Aberle, Matt McFadden, Mark McFadden, Dr. Chris Adams and wife, Dr. Melissa Duan, Spencer Adams, and B. J. Adams.
A special thank you to all of Anne’s loving care givers both from Home Helpers Inc. and Brighton Gardens. Anne was a gracious, spirited lady who taught all of us the meaning of unconditional love. MaMa will always hold a special place in our hearts.
