Anna Moore

Anna Obletiloff Moore, ?Obie?, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away October 11, 2007 at her home. She was born May 7, 1922 in Medvedie, Czechoslovakia. Anna moved to this country with her parents, brother, and twin sister, entering Ellis Island in 1928. She graduated from Nanticoke High School in Pennsylvania. She earned her RN degree in 1944 from St. Joseph?s School of Nursing, Patterson, NJ. Anna volunteered for active duty in the US Army Air Core in 1944 attaining the rank of Captain in the USAF. She married Max R. Moore October 3, 1954 and became a life-long resident of the Kansas City area. Anna spent her life raising her children and enjoying her granddaughters. She was active in her church, Tri Psi, American Dental Association Auxiliary, and The Society of Retired Air Force Nurses. Survivors include her children: Judy Donnelly (Pat), and Marie McGraw (Tom), both of Leawood, KS; Robert Moore of Windsor, CT; Shirley Waugh (West), of Topeka, KS, and nine granddaughters. She also leaves two sisters, Mary Domyon (Rudy) of Leawood, KS and Regina Rutledge (Ronnie) of Sarasota, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother John Obletiloff. Funeral services will be Monday, October 15, 10:00 am at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Visitation will be Sunday, October 14 from 4 to 6 pm at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf.
