Ann W. Bohn, 79, died peacefully on Sept. 28 at her home at Brighton Gardens of Prairie Village, Kan., surrounded by her loving family. Born April 9, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. to George and Dorothy Worthington, Ann spent most of her adult life in Kansas City with her husband, the late Harold H. (Hod) Bohn, Jr. (April 2007). She grew up in Minneapolis, Minn. and attended Bradford Junior College, Haverhill, Mass., and the University of Minnesota, where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. She and Hod were married in 1951 and spent the following two years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Hod worked for the American Embassy. They moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1953 and to Kansas City in 1956, where Hod established a manufacturers’ agents company. Ann worked as vice president and secretary of the corporation until she retired in 1998. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Carriage Club. Ann is survived by a son, Dr. William Worthington Bohn (Dr. Angela Noto) of Mission Hills, Kan.; a daughter, Cynthia (Ceci) Bohn Rodgers of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren, William Scott Bohn and Emily Macaulay Flock, both of Chicago, Ill.; and a brother, George Franklin Worthington, III (Dodie), of West Des Moines, Iowa.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, followed by the burial in Corinth Cemetery, 3301 W. 83rd St., Prairie Village.
