Allen W. Young, 87 of Shawnee, KS passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Allen was born January 19, 1925 in Chanute, KS to Duard and Eva Young. Allen served in The United States Navy during World War II. He was employed and retired from Trans World Airlines after 35 years of service.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents Duard and Eva Young, his wife Helen Young, son Dennis Young and grandson Christopher Young. He is survived by a sister, Helen Hoy and her husband David of Lenexa, KS; son Mark Young and his wife Sue of Lenexa, KS; his daughter Beth Young of Wheeling, IL; and his grandchildren Jonathon Young and Jamie Young of Madison, WI.
Visitation will be held at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel on Friday, May 11th, 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 6308 Quivera Rd, Shawnee, KS on Saturday, May 12th, 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Heart Association or Hope Lutheran Church.
