Allan Chambers, born August 21, 1921, died on October 15, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Born in St Paul, Minnesota to George and Anna Chambers, he attended the University of Minnesota where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta, then served as Lieutenant in the Army during World War II. During the War, he met his wife Suzanne in France. They were married 63 years. He will be sorely missed by Suzanne, their daughter Germaine (Bambi) Gibson, grand children Ashley and companion John Williams , David and wife Jill, great granddaughter Zoey Isabella, and Jill’s son Andrew. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
Alan loved to be busy and useful. After his retirement, he served as a volunteer for Harvesters and Lutheran Ministries, worked at Ranchmart Hardware and several other local businesses. Of all his roles in life, soldier, businessman, volunteer, and friend to many, he most cherished his family, and will forever be remembered as “the best Gramps ever”.
