Agnes Larson was born June 28, 1921 in Independence, Minnesota, and passed away on May 6, 2015. She was the youngest and last survivor of nine children born to Andrew and Nettie Johannessen who homesteaded in Minnesota in 1900.
She graduated from Alborn High School, attended college in Minneapolis two years and served two years in the SPARS (US Coast Guard) during World War II.
Agnes married Robert Larson in 1944 whom she divorced after 27 years of marriage. Agnes was president of Lowell PTA in Kansas City, Kansas, a Camp Fire leader, and active in Boy Scouts. She also enjoyed affiliations in S.A.B.S. and S.A.F. and Village Singles. She attended Village Church and the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She was employed for twenty years in the Johnson County Appraisers Office, retiring as a Supervisor in Reappraisal.
She is survived by: her daughter, Roberta (Jerry) Sharbutt of Shawnee, KS; son, Ronald (Madelaine) Larson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, John (fiancé, Janelle Floyd) Larson of Pleasanton, KS; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 9 at Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS, followed by a time for visiting.
