Jerry Arnold Holloway

Oct. 3, 1939 – April 12, 2015

Born to Anna Mae Holloway and Walter Clyde Holloway, he was the youngest of eleven children. Jerry grew up in a poor family amidst hardship. He was the first of his family to attend college, graduating from the school of engineering at Kansas State University in 1966.

Jerry started working for the Army Corps of Engineers in 1963, was married that same year and had three children. He continued with the Army Corps of Engineers for thirty-two years, spending most of that time working to provide safety through levee protection on the Missouri River and flood prevention in the Brush Creek area.

In the 80’s Jerry was led to salvation when a close family friend survived a suicide attempt.

In June of 1985 Jerry married Linda Faye Leveritt. They enjoyed a full and happy marriage, serving the Lord together for nearly thirty years.

Shortly before retiring, Jerry founded Fishers of Men Ministries where he began his inner city outreaches here in Kansas City as well as missions to the Navajo nation in Shiprock, NM. He traveled to Topeka, Haiti and Mexico. Jerry had a heart for the Lord and a passion to tell about His love and His Word to everyone he encountered.

Jerry Holloway is survived by his three siblings, Mavis, Gladys and Clyde, his three children Tamara Tipton, Bret Holloway and Kevin Holloway, his two grandchildren Joshua Dylan Holloway and Bailey Michael Andrew Tipton, and his loving wife Linda.
